The Leake & Watts Young Professionals Committee (YPC) is dedicated to stirring up the spirit of philanthropy and encouraging young professionals to give back to their community through fundraising to benefit Leake & Watts’ services to children, adults and families. The YPC is comprised of young, enthusiastic New Yorkers under the age of 40, who serve as Leake & Watts ambassadors, building awareness of its mission among their associates and acquaintances.
The YPC hosts two annual fundraising events and members have the opportunity to designate the funds raised to the Leake & Watts program of their choice each year. In addition, YPC members participate in volunteer activities, including bowling and ice-skating with children/adults with developmental disabilities and career workshops with teens at the Biondi Education Center. They also help with the annual Toy Drive and have launched several other initiatives, such as Cases 4 Kids.
New members are always welcome from the professional community in New York City and Westchester County!
YPC meetings are scheduled for the third Tuesday of every month and are held at 7pm at the Crowne Plaza in Times Square, NYC.

Cases4Kids
The Leake & Watts Young Professionals Committee (YPC) supported youth in foster care by launching the Cases4Kids campaign in the summer of 2010, and we're collecting suitcases again until August 31, 2011. The bags collected will provide youth in our foster care programs with suitcases of their own as they head off to college or visit their families. Contact icolon@execu-search.com to donate, and read more about last year's successful Cases4Kids campaign here.
Spring Fling
The Young Professionals Committee recently hosted the event Spring Fling on the Hudson! Members and guests enjoyed cool drinks, fantastic raffle prizes, and great company at the Boat Basin Cafe. For more details, visit our YPC Spring Fling on the Hudson article.
Holiday Toy Drive
Every year, the YPC works to brighten the Holiday Season for impoverished children and youth, children in foster care, and young people with emotional and developmental challenges. To learn more or help out, contact development@leakeandwatts.org for more information.
