Be a Mentor to a Teen

Activity: Become a Mentor to a teen at our Residential Treatment Center or in our Family Foster Care Program.

Our Mentoring Program is geared towards the social and academic success of youth. Our program connects each mentee, one-to-one, with a volunteer mentor who can provide insight and direction.  The overall purpose of the mentor relationship is to help mentees develop positive social skills, set personal goals, and plan for their academic and professional futures.
Our mentors will be a diverse group of people of different ages and cultural backgrounds, representing a vast array of occupations. Each mentor is carefully screened and evaluated prior to being matched with a mentee. Eager to share insight and experience with his or her mentee, each mentor will spend a minimum of four hours a month with his or her mentee for a period of one year.
Location: Yonkers Main Campus & Williamsbridge, Bronx
Time and Day: Weekdays, twice a month, 2 hours each day
Duration: requires a year-long commitment between the mentor and mentee.
